At dusk Pam and I decided to go to Barnstable Harbor to take a short walk. It was almost dark but I decided to bring my Nikon D850 to see how well it could focus in the dark. As we arrived I took a couple pictures of the harbor and some ducks that were nothing but silhouettes to the naked eye. Then we spotted a loaded Oyster Boat that was coming into the harbor (the same kind Tommy used to work on). It was so dark we could see no details but I continued to follow the boat with the camera. The boat was met by a trailer and as I began to record the event I reviewed one of the pictures. I was astounded when I realized that the camera was able to bring out details I could not see with my naked eye. I was even able to see the faces of those on the boat. And then I realized, it was Doug, the same Doug who worked with Tommy on this very boat. What was so surprising is that we had just that morning reviewed some pictures Doug had posted on Facebook, pictures taken on the other side of the world. What a coincidence. Doug had just returned and we were there to welcome him.
