This gallery documents our trip after leaving Naples, FL. It begins in Ft. Myers and ends near the border of Mississippi. Little did we know that we would be taking some of the last pictures of Sanibel Island and Captiva Island before being destroyed by hurricane Ian. Even though they were taken a month before the hurricane the mood was foreboding. The images capture menacing cloud formations that lead into a beautiful sunset.
While in Ft. Myers we visited the Ford & Edison Winter Estates (see adjoining gallery), stayed with Mike & Mary Lou Falivena (one of Bob's colleagues from the 70's) who took us up to Sarasota for lunch. We had a great time during our visit with them -- especially Bob & Mike who spent hours getting caught up on the last 40 years.
After leaving the Falivena's we headed for New Orleans traveling through Tampa, Tallahassee, Pensacola, Mobile AL, to Biloxi MS. where we spent the night.
