Come to the Science Museum and join us for an evening of food, entertainment and celebration as we participate in the Excel Academy Charter School's 3rd Annual Celebration of Excellence. You will begin to see how this 6 year old school (grades 5-8) has already scored at the very top of Massachusetts MCAS tests.

You might ask why I care. The answer is that I am the proud father of Excel's Director of Development, Audra Peek. But more than that I have come to learn that Excel has hit upon a formula that can work anywhere. I only wish I had such an opportunity when I was in school. But I digress. On with the Celebration.

After parking your car, you will be met at the sign-in table by a young student who will greet you and tour you around the museum. Along the way, other students will explain and demonstrate how the principles that have made this school so successful actually work:

1. Be Prepared - No excuses

2. Be Respectful - To yourself, your classmates, the staff and the school

3. Be Engaged - Lean in, Listen, Participate, Volunteer, Contribute, Track the Speaker, Read All Directions, and ask Insightful Questions

4. Be Professional - Stay organized, Demonstrate good posture, Work hard, Be Articulate, and follow All Directions and Procedures.

So, enjoy your tour, relish the food...it only costs $150 a plate ... and be ready to dig deep as we auction off multiple opportunities to support this unusual school.
