This gallery captures the first day of our weeklong road trip to Maine and NH. This is the first road trip with our new puppy Akita (Jessie Bear-at 6 months old). So please forgive our emphasis on her presence. So much of what we did was new for her, so we wanted to capture as much as we could. Some of her firsts include sleeping in motels/bed and breakfasts, visiting multiple dog parks, swimming and diving off a dock, rock climbing, walking in the midst of heavy human traffic (tourists) and hearing new and sudden sounds (boat horns etc.).

This gallery begins at a motel in Freeport, ME, moves to a dog park in Brunswick, ME (home of Bowdoin College), continues up the coast to Boothbay Harbor, Owls Head Light, Rockland and Camden, ME.

The weather was superb, the sights, outstanding and the dog a complete pleasure. She did not bark in the motels, she met many people up close and personal (everyone wanted to pet her), made a whole bunch of new dog friends and generally enriched our road trip experience.
