This 9th Gallery of our 2019 Road Trip begins at the Duck Lake Lodge in Browning, MT. We arrived the night before at 11PM at the last minute before closing time. We felt blessed to find such a beautiful place in the middle of nowhere at such an hour.

After a delicious breakfast we explored the premises and then headed for an interesting drive through Big Sky country. The drive took us south through beautiful rolling hills paralleled on the right by The Rocky Mountain Range.

We followed Rt 89 to Great Falls and then Rt 15 to the Capitol in Helena, MT. We stopped, fueled up, went to a car wash, and walked around the Capitol Building grounds before continuing on Rt 15 to Butte.

From Butte we took Rt 90 to Three Forks and then Rt 287 to Ennis, MT. From there we went west on old Rt 287 to historic Virginia City and Nevada City. Along the way we stopped to take pictures of a beautiful vista before entering Virginia City. At Nevada City (One mile from Virginia City) we were fortunate to find a place at the Nevada City Hotel and Cabins.

Both "cities" seem to be suspended in time promoting the fact that they have been "Resisting Change Since 1863".

We arrived just in time to unpack and go back to Virginia City where we ate at the local Saloon. At the Saloon we met Bob who was with his wife and two other couples from Island Park, MT (see picture). Bob told us that they were going to the H.S. Gilbert Brewery Follies that was about to start down the street. It sounded good so we bought two tickets and were entertained by a group of talented actor/comedians who specialized in what they characterized as non-politically correct humor.

We had a great time at the Brewery and enjoyed meeting Vincent from the Renaissance Church who was celebrating with the Tuss Family (see group picture).
